Linen Closet

A standard hall closet made way for this built-in designed and finished in the period style of this ca 1915 colonial.

I didn't get a good 'before' shot, but this is the lower section.  This was a hall closet with shelves and a typical 30" painted wood door.

In most any storage situation... drawers for the win.  They will add cost, but the functionality is unsurpassed.

models and renderings were produced prior to construction as usual to effectively communicate ideas and permit accurate pricing

This tone was produced by applying two coats of hand-mixed color-matched stain, achieved by a couple of visual takes and memory as I didn't make the stain on site. Three more stain coats were applied to bring the shade closer to the dark shades of the existing woodwork.

The woodwork was finished in the common European colonial paint/stain combination found throughout the house.

The inlaid trim pieces were fabricated as simple compounds to replicate the profiles found throughout the house, thus avoiding the expense of producing one-off factory knives.
