left to right, top to bottom: herb shelves, pantry, 9 feet of spices, 72x30x1.75” solid worksurface, utensil organizers, compost, wraps and misc., deep bowl / vented produce storage, trash & recycle, large item storage, vertical organizer. the drawers are 26” deep in lieu of typical 20 as counter top is 30” deep, providing more surface area and storage.
the blue finish is a solid body stain which penetrates into the wood rather than sitting on top like paint, giving greater durability. after fine sanding, the color coat was applied then buffed with 0000 grade steel wool and rubbed with 2 coats orange oil wax. durable and easily touched up as necessary.
the worksurface is laminated birch with food grade tung oil and orange wax finish, built 2” higher than typical (more ergonomic for most users, but individual choice). chop, mix, roll-out directly on surface. easy cleanup and maintenance. tough, natural, and beautiful.
