Let's Find 'Jake' a Great Home!

3.25.25

This guy stopped by to visit my pups on the front porch today. I went out to see what the ruckus was about and then went down to check him out as he was clearly in distress. He initially backed away but then came right up when I knelt down and extended a palm-up hand, so he's definitely accustomed to people. I tethered him to the porch rail and got him big bowls of food and water. After his feast, he got a warm bath and a quiet place to sleep where he immediately crashed out for about two hours.

3.28.25

Jake (his for-now name) started wagging his tail today. Bessie and Ray have taken him in as one of the pack, and his coat is getting shinier though it will take some time to put meat on those bones. I'm feeding him "the usual" 100% meat dry food in chicken or beef broth which is preferred 'round here over everything but raw meat. Jake's getting about 50% more food than Ray who's at least twice his weight and built like a bull.

He's now energetic, affectionate, and happy to be off the streets and in from the cold. Jake will make a beloved companion to a good human(s).

Jake's no poser (unlike someone I know)

I've contacted 17 shelters they are currently all full and not accepting dogs, especially Pits because there are so many strays and surrenders.

Let's find this boy a great new home!

4.1.25

Jake has put on a couple of pounds and is feeling good!

4.9.25

Jake is doing great! I initially thought he was a few years old based on his rough appearance and battle scars, but now that he has put on weight and is full of energy, I'd say he's only about 9-10 months. He still has sharp teeth, soft fur, and puppy-like behavior and vocalizations.
